Job Title: Sales Manager (Operations) Location: UK. (Travel required) Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Sales Manager (Operations) to join our team. This role is focused on engaging with operational management teams at client sites to identify and convert troubleshooting, improvement, upgrade, and short-term opportunities into Purchase Orders (POs) with rapid turnaround. The successful candidate will be comfortable discussing technical solutions, delivering quick, high-volume work packages, and fostering strong relationships with site-level operational teams across the UK. This role includes elements of business development at an operational level, targeting new clients or sites. Contract values are typically sub-£100k with short delivery horizons, often within three months. The ideal candidate will have experience in the energy sector, including utilities, oil & gas, power, and renewables and a strong background in working with EPC providers in engineering and design environments. Familiarity with Gas Turbine Auxiliary Equipment Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement and Technical Discussions: Build and maintain strong relationships with operational management teams at client sites. Engage in on-site technical discussions to identify client needs, troubleshoot issues, and develop outline solutions. Translate identified opportunities into actionable Purchase Orders (POs) with short delivery timelines. Sales Execution: Focus on securing high-volume, sub-£100k contracts with quick turnaround times. Drive revenue through on-site engagement, targeting opportunities that deliver results within a three-month horizon. Business Development: Target new clients or operational sites to expand the company’s footprint and uncover additional opportunities. Leverage relationships and technical expertise to penetrate operational markets. Quotations and Bids: Compile and deliver accurate and compelling quotations or bids tailored to client needs. Ensure quotations align with client expectations and project requirements. CAPEX/OPEX Awareness: Understand client behaviours related to CAPEX and OPEX spending. Identify and address common operational pinch points to provide timely and cost-effective solutions. Travel and Site Presence: Regularly travel to client sites across the UK to build relationships, discuss solutions, and oversee opportunities. Act as the face of the company for operational-level interactions. CRM and Reporting: Use CRM systems to manage client interactions, track sales activities, and generate reports. Maintain accurate records of all client engagements and sales opportunities. Key Qualifications: HNC/HND in Engineering/Operations/Sales Proven experience in sales within the energy sector (utilities, oil & gas, power, etc.). Background in working with EPC providers, with a focus on engineering and design. Familiarity with Gas Turbine Auxiliary Equipment is preferred but not essential. Demonstrated ability to engage in technical discussions and develop outline solutions. Strong understanding of CAPEX and OPEX behaviours, including operational challenges and solutions. Proficient in using CRM systems for sales tracking and client management. Skilled in compiling and delivering quotations and bids.
