Job Title: Design Engineer
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (DOE)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - no shifts
Holidays: 32 days holiday
Contract: Permanent
Company: Growing company with a strong order book, working on bespoke projects.
A Design Engineer is needed to work for an innovative and well-established automotive manufacturing business that is a leader in its field. This role has become available due to company expansion, and there are many interesting projects to work on with a supportive, long-standing team in place.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Working on the build of specialist vehicles for both national and international clients.
2. Taking the initial brief from the customer and working through the initial stages all the way to the approval stage.
3. Producing full production drawings including BOMs ready for the programming stage of the process for full production roll-out.
4. Liaising with the Sales/project team and clients to take project briefs.
5. Taking concept models from brief, ready for customer sign-off.
6. Producing 3D models of concepts to the point of releasing fabrication drawings and DXFs ready for programming - this could be anything from a simple box design to full vehicle bodies.
7. Draughting full manufacturing drawings ready for release to the workshop teams.
8. Creating Bill of Materials, audit trails, and releases of product changes.
9. Liaising with the internal manufacturing team to resolve any production issues.
Requirements:
1. 2 years' experience with strong experience in fabrication design (i.e., plastics and sheet metal materials).
2. Proficient in Solidworks.
3. Some knowledge of CNC Programming using Alphacam (Desirable).
Benefits:
Salary/Package: £32,000 - £38,000 (Dependent on Experience).
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm - Fridays 8 am to 3:15 pm.
Holidays: 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
