Job Description:
Teaching Assistant - Secondary Education - Day to Day Supply
Derbyshire - Chesterfield, Worksop, Mansfield
Earn up to £550 per week
About the Role:
Connex Education are currently working closely with a number of academies and schools seeking experienced teaching assistants to support on both a day-to-day supply basis, both full and part-time. We are looking for staff who have experience working in a school setting, supporting 1:1 and/or with small groups of pupils.
We have roles in both primary and secondary academies and are willing to accept experience out of the classroom but still working with a related age group to the schools you’d prefer to work within.
For this role, we are looking for staff immediately; however, a later start can be considered if you are seeking work later in the academic year. You can work around your lifestyle commitments from 1 to 5 days a week; if part-time suits you better, then that works for us!
Benefits of working with Connex Education:
* Competitive daily rate.
* Free access to our SEND Toolkit skills development package comprising over 19 courses.
* Funded formal qualifications, from Level 2 SEND, Level 3 Teaching and Learning, Level 4 HLTA, and Level 5 TEFL.
* Career progression via our Care to Classroom setting conversion course.
* Wellbeing programme and refresher training for life in a 21st-century classroom.
* Trainee teacher apprenticeship opportunities.
Person Specification:
* Have some experience working with young people with SEND in either a school setting or a similar environment.
* Be confident in your ability to support students with varied needs and/or challenging behaviours.
* Hold strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
* Able to follow EHCP and care/learning plans effectively if needed (not essential).
* Willing to undergo continual professional training.
* Be reliable and committed to working within an education environment.
* Able to work under pressure effectively and ‘think on your feet’.
* Ambitious and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a good sense of humour.
