An exciting opportunity has arisen on Bridge Ward to work as a Nurse practitioner. Bridge Ward is a 17 bedded male acute ward.
This is a demanding and challenging role where, as a successful candidate, you will be required to demonstrate high levels of resilience, excellent problem-solving and inter-personal skills as well as the ability to provide sound clinical and leadership support to team members.
The post holder will also demonstrate a passion for coaching leadership style, quality improvement and attitude which respects and values service users’ choice and works alongside them and their carers to ensure they are at the centre of care planning.
This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
Main duties of the job
1. Working as a registered nurse practitioner on Bridge Ward.
2. Working a variety of shift patterns including mornings, afternoons, long days and night duties.
3. Promoting and providing safe and good patient care to all service users and support their families.
4. Working within a team and autonomously when appropriate to ensure that service is delivered.
5. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with all agencies to promote safe and up-to-date practice for service users.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Assess patient/client conditions and consider a range of options when delivering complex and highly complex clinical care.
2. Maintain clinical credibility by providing clinical care and supporting members of the team within the clinical environment.
3. Ensure that clinical duties are appropriately delegated to the relevant team member.
4. Provide data that supports the monitoring of team contract and objectives.
5. Participate in audits and research, as required.
6. Participate in individual and group supervision.
7. In conjunction with the service management, ensure systems are in place for the ongoing review and assessment of care provision and delivery.
8. Work within guidelines to identify and manage risk, reporting identified risks to the service management.
9. Report any incidents as per Trust policies and support any investigations as delegated by the service lead.
10. Participate in patient satisfaction reporting to improve patient care.
11. Provide support to team members holding responsibility for mentoring students.
