We have a great opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Performance Analytics team. You can be based at our head office in Newcastle on a hybrid basis or work remotely. \r You will be responsible for extracting, validating and analysis data from various sources to generate meaningful insights that contribute to the improvement of services. You will also utilise data warehouse software and visualisation tools to interpret complex datasets and will communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and to key external stakeholders. \r Duties and responsibilities \r \r Apply basic to intermediate analytical techniques to transform data into meaningful insights within the context of mental health services. \r Identify patterns, outliers, and data quality issues, ensuring data and analysis align with established practices and expectations. \r Participate in discussions to determine appropriate performance measures and translate business needs into actionable metrics. \r Extract data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance for analysis. \r Identify and address data quality issues through cleansing and consistency checks. \r Incorporate summary statistics to clarify data meaning and variations, ensuring data is fit for purpose. \r Utilize SQL Server for data extraction and manipulation, transitioning to Snowflake Data Warehouse and Tableau for visualization. \r Demonstrate proficiency in relevant analytical tools and applications, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. \r Apply descriptive statistics and visualization techniques to present insights effectively. \r Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and develop efficient solutions. \r Employ problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and resolve unexpected issues. \r Plan and execute analysis projects, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness in problem-solving. \r Communicate findings verbally, visually, and in writing to diverse stakeholders, tailoring the message to audience needs. \r Utilize appropriate media and language to present analysis results, ensuring clarity and understanding. \r Translate technical concepts into non-technical language and provide actionable recommendations. \r Engage in continuous learning and skills development, staying abreast of emerging best practices and technologies. \r Document competence and learning experiences, contributing to a professional body of work. \r Foster a collaborative and professional work environment, sharing knowledge and promoting professional values. \r \r About you \r \r Minimum grade 4/C in GCSE English and Maths. \r Degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills in a numerate discipline is desirable but not essential. \r Proven experience in data analysis and visualization, preferably in a healthcare or mental health setting, any other sectors are welcomed \r Proficiency in database software and applications. \r Familiarity with database concepts \r Confidence in interacting with senior members of an organization. \r Familiarity with NHS Healthcare Service \r Knowledge of NHS data standards. \r Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. \r Proficiency in SQL, with experience in data extraction and manipulation. \r Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar platforms. \r Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. \r Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. \r Ability to work under pressure. \r \r What we offer in return \r We are proud to have been recognised and certified as a Great Place to Work, which speaks volumes on how much we value our staff members.
