Search are supporting the recruitment of a Tax Assistant to join our client's Edinburgh office. Within the role, you'll be involved in preparing and completing Personal, Trust, and Estate Return forms and providing advice and assistance to clients and trustees on Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax matters. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and submitting tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and charities. Compiling and checking schedules of dividends and completing Capital Gains Tax calculations. Maintaining and updating Capital Gains Tax records and other relevant records. Lodging tax returns and agreeing correct tax liabilities with HMRC within time limits. Advising clients on tax payments and repayments, ensuring these are processed accurately. Regularly reviewing client files to ensure records are up-to-date and considering tax mitigation opportunities. Providing proactive tax advice to mitigate tax liabilities. Keeping up-to-date with relevant tax legislation and rules. Skills & experience you'll ideally have: Previous experience in tax administration or a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages. Strong processing skills and numerical accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong team player with good initiative.
