This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5 or existing Band 6 wishing to specialise in Stroke to join a well-established Stroke Therapy team at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Trust. There is the option for full or part time hours, including a substantive or secondment contract.
You will work with the wider MDT to provide high-quality therapy intervention, working towards service improvement and development. In return, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by deputising for the clinical lead and providing day-to-day management of Band 5, assistant staff, and students.

To work in support of other senior physiotherapists to provide a high standard service for stroke patients.
To be responsible for supervising and teaching junior staff, assistants and students working within the same speciality.
To provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment to stroke patients and provide specialist advice and support to other professionals regarding the management of stroke patients throughout the Trust.
• You will be required to demonstrate that you are:
• Organised and efficient
• Have demonstrable experience in stroke care.
• Relevant working knowledge of the National Stroke Guidelines/ NICE standards
• Have experience of supervising and teaching others.
• An enthusiastic and motivated team member
• An excellent communicator
• Flexible and adaptable to meet service requirements
• Genuinely interested in supporting the needs of those with complex and physical and cognitive impairment
• Able to work on your own as well as part of a team
• Flexible with regard to 7 day working
• maintain respiratory competencies to provide chest PT care to ward patients and also participate in the out of hours respiratory service as required.
