The Maintenance department is seeking a Shift Maintenance Fitter to join their busy team. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual who has the ability to prioritise workloads and identify potential improvements to operational systems and management processes in order to increase departmental efficiencies. The role involves working a 4 on 4 off (24/7) shift pattern within the estates department based at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The successful candidate should have good diagnostic and fault-finding skills and be able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals, as well as have an understanding of electrical installation plans and drawings. The role will involve working as a member of a multitasking maintenance team providing professional and technical expertise with an effective focus on service delivery. Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out or overseeing the repair, maintenance, or installation of complex plant and equipment associated with premises administered by the Trust's Estates department.
2. Maintaining appearance in line with the Trust dress code and upholding the Trust's values.
3. Maintaining professional and courteous working relationships with staff and respecting the equality and diversity of each person encountered during work duties.
4. Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance of essential systems across the diverse services of the Trust estate.
5. Analyzing faults and undertaking rectifications to ensure continuity of service.
6. Carrying out day-to-day mechanical repairs, planned maintenance, and improvements to the Trust's buildings in a manner that conforms to statutory regulations and codes of practice.
7. Participating in the emergency on-call as required by contractual obligation to ensure safe systems and service continuity.
8. Cross-site working as required.

Minimum Requirements:
* A National Qualification Framework (NQF) achievement to level 3 or above (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent). A qualification in Building services would be an advantage.
* Legionella/water systems knowledge.
* Asbestos awareness.
* Experience in building services maintenance with a demonstrable track record of competence.
* Knowledge and appreciation of Building Maintenance Issues.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to plan own workload, be flexible, and prioritise tasks.
* Ability to develop and work effectively in a team.
* Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
