What does a great Senior Manager Business Strategy do? The Senior Manager of Business Strategy acts as a key Strategy and Planning Partner for a commercial leadership team responsible for the global management of partner relationships. This role has two primary elements: Commercial Strategic Planning: Drive the annual strategic planning and review process to develop strategies supporting the growth of the commercial line of business. Strategic Thought Partnership: Support the commercial leadership team with projects and initiatives related to revenue, yield and margin growth. The Strategy and Planning Partner will collaborate on developing strategic plans, analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. Success in this role comes from partnering and implementing business plans in collaboration with senior leadership. You will support business leaders in developing the overall strategic plan for the Travel Partners teams, focusing on driving revenue and profit growth and improving operational efficiency. A key focus will be ensuring that commercial leaders have the resources needed to execute strategic imperatives, maintaining transparency on project progress, business priorities, critical issues, and enhancing global and regional service and support. Additionally, you will partner with leaders to drive the commercial organization to exceed objectives through strong adoption of CRM and centralized disciplines, processes, and tools. This role is also critical in supporting the commercial sales teams in driving cultural change, and business transformation across the organization. Main Accountabilities: Act as trusted advisor and Strategy and Planning partner to the commercial leadership team. Own the management and facilitation of the annual strategic planning process. Own the management and facilitation of the ongoing strategic planning review cadence. Support, develop, execute, and lead strategic initiatives and projects in the designated channel. Develop and monitor execution of key commercial sales processes with rigor and discipline, with a goal of enabling sales leaders to realize successful results through improvement in sales processes including: Timely and accurate annual/quarterly sales plans. Deployment of sales target and quota. Champion and facilitate sales cadence and pipeline reviews. Ensure excellence and quality with CRM adoption. Partner with leaders on proper management of partner needs, constraints, forecasts, and any potential risks associated with successful product launch/implementation activities. Partner with the product management team to ensure alignment of strategic imperatives. Partner with leaders on deal reviews and pricing initiatives needed to drive commercial performance, 100% retention of customer base and profitability goals. Establish best practices within the channel, benchmark successes and assist with scaling across the commercial channel. What do we look for? Required Experience and Capabilities: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce (or related field). Experience in strategic planning, business development, with frontline sales experience working in a technology and/or travel related business preferred. Experience working within a global and multi-cultural environment is advantageous. Sales Operations skills and experience in Travel/Technology Industries. Sales Management skills in Travel/Technology or software companies. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership skills and an ability to influence diverse teams. Sound technical understanding of GDS functionality and industry related work experience. Strong knowledge of key products in-industry, their functionality, pricing, and value. Ability to develop and sustain trusting professional relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and work effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to pivot approach and communications based on the audience; effectively translate(s) strategic imperatives into a practical and relevant value proposition. Able to identify and qualify new sales opportunities within the account portfolio. Must have the ability to assess and analyze situations accurately, grasp complexity, identify key issues and apply sound judgement on the approach for proper resolutions.
