Job Description We’re working with a respected law firm in Pocklington who are looking to welcome a Legal Assistant to their team to provide high-quality administrative support and delivering great service to both clients and colleagues. Working alongside experienced Fee Earners, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of legal files, helping to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Some of the key Legal Assistant duties are: Typing documents and correspondence accurately and promptly Managing administrative tasks across legal files Organising paper and digital files in a clear, timely manner Handling post and photocopying to firm standards Opening files and making initial client contact to gather key information Completing SDLT forms and Land Registry applications Preparing financial statements and finance chits for review You’ll also support client service and compliance by: Handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally Booking appointments and managing team diaries Ensuring confidentiality of all client and firm information Following all internal policies, procedures, and Lexcel standards Providing refreshments during client meetings when required Teamwork matters too - you’ll also: Provide reception cover when needed Be a friendly and approachable team player Contribute to department meetings Help create a positive, collaborative working culture This will be working Monday to Friday with full or part-time hours considered, with a competitive salary offered depending on experience.
