Job Description
The QA Engineer is an entry-level opportunity to work within a team responsible for testing our web-based product, REST-based APIs, Mobile iOS and Android products, and Microservices. Our QA Engineering Team works within defined test strategies, automated testing frameworks, and collaborates with the wider technology team and other stakeholders within the company, resulting in the development of innovative solutions for BRS Golf and GolfNow worldwide.
The QA Engineer I will contribute to a multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for new development, feature additions, maintenance, and support of the BRS Golf platform, services & integrations by:
* Self-driven learning towards all aspects of QA Engineering and engagement in training and development activities to support this.
* Contributing to designing, writing, and executing tests for both functional and non-functional requirements.
* Participating in all planning, communication, and retrospective meetings.
* Assisting in the documentation of analysis, test strategy, test execution, and test results.
* Involvement in root cause analysis and tracking defect resolution to completion.
* Working within clearly defined and documented processes related to the QA Team that ensures products and features are tested to a high standard to ensure quality standards are met prior to release.
* Identification of risks with timely escalation.
Qualifications
It is essential that candidates have:
* BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent OR participation in QA Engineering specific study/training.
* The ambition and capacity to learn new skills and own your personal development. Be highly organized, self-motivated with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Additional skills and experience that would be desirable:
* Previous hands-on experience with QA methodologies, coding, or security and performance testing.
* Experience with relational databases, composing and running SQL queries.
* Experience using test management tools like TestRail.
* Familiarity with Postman, JSON, XML.
