JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Technical Safety Engineer in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Working on a PSC Contract outside IR35 and hybrid working is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Experience in offshore brownfield modifications.
2. Understanding of principles of ALARP.
3. Knowledge of hazards associated with the oil and gas industry.
4. Ability to identify impact to safety critical elements & understanding of performance standards.
5. Knowledge and understanding of qualitative risk assessments.
6. Production of design, safety & environmental assessments.
7. Experienced in design HAZID / HAZOP / ENVID's.
8. Knowledge and understanding of hazard and risk management.
9. Knowledge and understanding of consequence modelling (PHAST software).
10. Knowledge and understanding of human factors and application to design.
11. Understanding of hazardous area classification.
12. Principles of Escape, Refuge, Evacuation, Rescue and Recovery.
13. Understanding manual handling.
14. Ability to originate and check engineering deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
2. Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent.
