Kingston Hospital is a high performing and clinically led acute hospital providing healthcare to around 350,000 people in South West London and North West Surrey.
Emergency Medicine is a critical service for us and our Emergency Department is a vital part of the community that cares for around 106,000 patients every year. We are looking for an Emergency Care Nurse/Paramedic to join our team, to provide exceptional clinical leadership to the service line. The service line is growing rapidly and has had a recent investment of over £4 million to expand its resus and majors areas including a newly designed dementia friendly zone, dedicated paediatric resus cubicle and new Resus Team of Nurses and Paramedics, as well as the new co-located Urgent Treatment Centre which opened in November 2017.
It is an exciting time for Kingston Emergency Department with the introduction of the new role of an Emergency Care Nurse to work (predominately) within the Resuscitation room. As an ECN/Paramedic, you should have substantial emergency care experience, a detailed understanding of recent developments in emergency medicine and be able to translate and implement this into quality patient care. Applicants should have a mentorship qualification/experience and must have completed ILS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide leadership in the Resuscitation room undertaking the role of the Resuscitation room lead. This will provide specialist emergency nursing advice to co-workers and juniors working throughout the department. The role is to work primarily, but not exclusively, in the resuscitation area.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification
* Relevant post registration clinically specialty qualification (ie ICU or ED nursing course or equivalent)
Experience
* Relevant post registration experience; within critical/high dependency care or ED
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment
* Clear understanding of safeguarding procedures
