Job Description
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support the Head of Technical within Heatly to ensure market-leading and optimized system designs are implemented across our platform. Taking a role in the designing, studying, and analyzing of mechanical systems and component layouts to ensure the most accurate designs possible are implemented across our digital solution.
Participating in project planning and implementing new methodologies to improve and validate designs and conducting simulations and side-by-side tests to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of our digital solution, you will help shape the future of heat pump installations in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
* Ensure that accurate schematics and layouts are created based on manufacturers' data.
* Conduct side-by-side testing of the Heatly platform ensuring accuracy across all aspects of the mechanical designs.
* Work closely with the Head of Technical to develop and implement optimized solutions to complex scenarios.
* Ensure that manufacturers' data sets are accurate and up to date.
* Take part in and provide feedback in the software team development sessions identifying technical and workflow improvements.
Learning and Development:
* Work closely with senior technical support specialists and other team members to learn about the company’s products and services.
* Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge and support skills.
* Stay updated on new product features and updates to provide accurate and current support.
* Collaborate with other support team members and departments to resolve customer issues efficiently.
* Communicate effectively with product development teams to provide feedback from customers and share insights on recurring technical issues.
* Identify common issues and suggest improvements to support processes and tools.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge bases and support documentation.
Qualifications
* Education: A degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with a good grasp of mathematics to A level standard or above.
* Technical Skills: Basic understanding of IT systems, software applications, and troubleshooting techniques.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Problem-Solving: A keen interest in solving technical problems and a proactive approach to learning.
* Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and seek guidance when needed.
Familiarity with hydraulic system design at domestic or small commercial scale.
Experience with software design and/or support ticketing systems.
