Job Description MRO Engineer Bristol SNBG 7 - 10 An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Overhaul Methods & Tooling Engineer to join the Defence Mature Programs team with a product portfolio covering Combat, Trainer, Transport, Naval products in Bristol. This role is for our Combat engine portfolio (EJ200 & RB199) focussing on Maintenance and Overhaul (M&O). Overhaul Methods & Tooling Engineers are primarily responsible for defining the safe, reliable, and cost-effective method of maintenance and overhaul of our products. They do this by ensuring that the support solutions defined (including technical instructions and associated tooling) are stable, repeatable, and seamlessly integrate with the product maintenance and overhaul network, including validation oversight. They provide technical support in ensuring processes are adhered to and feasible alternatives are approved and rolled out accordingly. Discover more on our GBS Service Portal about hybrid working. What you will be doing Supply Chain and MRO Support: Improve product delivery by enhancing cost efficiency and lead times. Ensure supply chain processes are fit for purpose. Provide support to Part 145 MRO operations in the Defence Aerospace Operations Facility, ensuring smooth and effective maintenance and overhaul activities. Technical Package and Requirements : Develop and maintain the Technical Package to achieve efficient, modern, and cost-effective methods. Define and contribute to technical requirements for component repairs. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure Maintenance, Operational, and Overhaul Technical data comply with regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements. Manage technical data delivery through the authoring supply chain. Support quality assessments like FAI/LAI. Stakeholder Collaboration and Facility Support : Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Service Operations, Design, and other stakeholders to provide support and identify improvements. Ensure technical solutions meet requirements, return components to serviceable condition, and support the setup of new overhaul facilities and capabilities. Who we’re looking for Must haves: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM subject and/or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). An ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters to varying timelines and with internal and external customers. Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and special processes with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply practical manufacturing thinking. Excellent written communication and presentation skills Desirables: Good knowledge of the Defence Mature engines portfolio, specifically around the functionality of relevant systems and components with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of the product. Familiarity with the use and creation of technical publications such as maintenance manuals and illustrated parts catalogues.
