Role Overview
Reporting to our Group Payroll Manager, as a Payroll Specialist you'll work as part of our Payroll team to deliver an efficient and effective in-house payroll solution to all Novuna employees.
We've recently implemented a brand new HR (HiBob) and payroll system (Dayforce) which marks the completion of a major project in our HR department. There is still plenty of opportunity to get involved in the new payroll system and processes where you will help us on the continuation of our implementation journey. You'll work in a supportive environment and there will be lots of opportunities to learn new skills.
Key Duties
* Delivering the monthly payroll for our 6 payrolls which includes UK employees, expats, pensioners and 3 outsourced international (Finland, Ireland, Netherlands).
* Providing support to all Novuna employees by dealing with payroll queries in a professional and efficient manner.
* Calculating manual payments using variable data such as benefits, bonus, overtime, commission, sickness/absence, parental payments, pension and tax.
* Ensuring starters and leavers are paid accurately in their first or final month of employment.
* Performing manual tax and NI calculations as required and supporting with payrolling (e.g. P11D's).
What We Are Looking For
You'll have a background in a payroll related role with exposure to best practices, processes, systems and good exposure to payroll related legislation. You'll have strong attention to detail and accuracy and will be able to perform complex calculations related to tax codes and net pay.
Also, we're looking for the following:
* Good working knowledge of payroll systems (exposure to our new system, Dayforce (Ceridian) and/or Merca/Darwin would be an added bonus).
* Highly skilled in MS Office Suite, in particular Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).
* Great interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
* Good knowledge of pensions and tax.
