Medical Support Supervisor - Emergency Service Durham, NC Full Time: Schedule varies based on needs of Services; FT Hiring Bonus 5000.00 The Triangle's premier emergency and specialty hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced veterinary technician/veterinary medical assistant to join our team as a Medical Support Supervisor (MSS). Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital (TVRH) provides 24-hour emergency service and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, neurology, critical care and radiology. In addition, our updated facility is outfitted with advanced medical equipment such as MRI, CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopy enabling the medical team to offer quick, high-level diagnostics, treatment and follow up care. As TVRH continues to grow, we are expanding our team to include additional Medical Support Supervisors. This position serves as a working supervisor role and is expected to provide the team with additional medical support assistance as necessary. Floor duties may include routine patient care such as patient assessment, performing patient treatments, administering medications, taking radiographs, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, obtaining patient histories and client communication. In addition, the MSS directs the flow of the technician team to promote efficient and effective completion of duties. The MSS is also responsible for the HR management of the departments medical support team and development/implementation of patient care processes. HR management duties include recruitment, performance management, scheduling and training. The MSS, in conjunction with the supervisory and management team, will help to oversee the day to day flow of the medical support team, identify and address any issues or concerns and provide team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction and motivation to enable their success. This role functions with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. Solid technical skills and knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required. Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational and computer skills; proactive thinking and the right attitude are essential to experience success in this position. Due to the nature of emergency medicine, flexibility is a necessity. Schedules will include some evening and/or weekend hours. Lastly, as a representative of management, the Medical Support Supervisor must support the hospital mission, vision, goals and management decisions.
