The fundraising team works hard to ensure each supporter is thanked and feels valued, and we now have a dedicated Supporter Care Team to manage this. We are hoping to improve this care even further.
What you will be doing
You will be helping the new Supporter Care Team trial a thanking initiative by calling every new St Peter’s supporter each month.
We would like to call each new donor every month to thank them personally, find out more about them, and support any future fundraising, volunteering, or event participation they may be interested in.
Initially, we would like the trial to discover:
1. how long each call would take
2. how many calls one individual could get through in a day, to understand volunteer/staff capacity
3. how these calls were received by supporters and what, if any, actions flow from them
Skills, experience, and qualities needed
* Empathetic, outgoing, and approachable, with a confident telephone manner
* A good listener and communicator
* Open to learning and developing new skills
* Prepared to work alone and as part of a team
* Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Where and when
You can carry out the role remotely or come into the office, or a bit of both!
The Fundraising Office is based in Long Ashton, just south-west of Bristol. There is parking on-site and good bus links.
We welcome any amount of time you can give us but are looking for someone who can commit a consistent amount of time each week or month. We can work with you on what time you can spare and fit volunteering around your existing commitments.
Support offered
You will receive regular supervision, guidance, and feedback from the Supporter Care Team Lead and Individual Giving Manager. You'll be working within the wider, friendly fundraising team, and there is always someone around to ask for help.
Training
You will undergo a comprehensive training and induction process that will familiarize you with all aspects of your role.
What to do if you’re interested
Complete our short online application form on our website or apply via the Bristol SU system, and the team will get back to you to chat through more details. They will be excited to meet you and get you booked in for a taster session.
