Position: KS2 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Salford, Greater Manchester Start Date: January 2024 Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 2 at a vibrant primary school in the Salford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN in Key Stage 2, ensuring their individual needs are met. Assist with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans. Support the child in accessing the curriculum, helping them to engage in classroom activities and manage their learning. Promote positive behaviour and social interactions, supporting the child's emotional and social development. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support as needed. Assist with administrative tasks and record keeping related to the child's learning and well-being. Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to help the child feel included and confident. The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children, ideally within a KS2 setting, and knowledge of SEN, particularly in the context of learning difficulties or disabilities. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting children with SEN. A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to apply them effectively. A team player, able to collaborate with other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN-specific training) would be desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
