Job summary There is an exciting opportunity a Junior Ward Sister (band 6) to apply for a 12 month secondment on Ward C29 in the Queens Centre has an exciting opportunity for a committed, experienced and aspiring nurse to join an enthusiastic nursing team who will provide high standards of holistic nursing care to patients with cancer who have a variety of medical, nursing and psychological needs. The ward Junior Sister/Junior charge nurse will be a motivated enthusiastic person with excellent leadership and communication skills, they will be a role model leading the team by example to deliver caring compassionate end of life care to the patients. Main duties of the job You will be an inclusive proactive member of the senior nursing team within specialist services. You must be able to use your own initiative by leading, developing, improving and monitoring standards of care to ensure safety for all patients and staff. The Junior Sister/ Junior Charge nurse will work collaboratively with the members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for our patients. You should have knowledge of the complex discharge process and be able to work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external agencies to provide seamless and safe discharge. The new post holder will be supported in their role and will be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential as a competent and effective ward junior sister/charge nurse.
