Please note the shift patterns will include the following times: Early Shift - 06.45am-14.45pm Late Shift - 14.30pm-22.15pm and Long Days - 06.45am-22.15pm. Job Description:To make an important contribution to the normal development of the young people through the provision of a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate activities and a consistent caring adult role model.To have safeguarding at the heart of everything you do, to know the current guidelines/legislation around Safeguarding & also to be confident when reporting & recording any concerns.You will complete a robust & detailed induction with excellent training resources and additional courses .To care, nurture and establish positive relationships with the children/young people, assessing their needs and working in collaboration with your team to produce & implement when delivering, and revising individual care plans.To always maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the individual needs of the young person including their physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs within the companies aspirations and guidelines.To contribute to and implement care plans, participate in reviews and other meetings as required and ensuring all documentation is up to date and changed when appropriate i.e. after a statutory review & working within the Children’s Act 1989 & 2004, Every Child Matters and all other relevant legislation.To be able to provide advice, assistance, and support on a 1:1 basis to enable the child to address past and present difficulties, this will include holding regular 1:1 key work sessions with the young person that you will be allocated.To be part of a diverse staff team in the home, to promote Equality & Diversity & to always be sensitive to the needs of the individual young people in our care taking into account their race, language, religion, sexuality and culture. Also we will be continue to support a young person if they choose to continue practicing their Faith/Religion/Culture during their time with us.Providing emotional support at a time of difficulty or stress. Encouraging the young people to be involved in the wider community.You will be working alongside an extremely passionate Manager, who will share your vision for the young people in our care. They will also support you with your Career Progression.You will support the Manager & the staff team to adhere & work alongside the Home's Statement of Purpose & Policies/ Procedures. To always follow & implement the Children's Home Regulations 2015 guidelines in place & the Quality Standards including keeping yourself & others up to date with any changes of information to current Legislation & Guidelines in place. Qualifications/Skills:Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and young people, preferably in a children’s residential home, or equivalent settings.NVQ Level 3 in Residential childcare (Desirable)A proven passion for working with children & young people.An enhanced D.B.S check will be completed, & you will be expected to maintain a record of your current DBS on the Update System.Full UK driving licence is essential.You must have excellent communication skills & good experience working alongside Multi Agencies & External Partnerships, such as Health & Educational Professionals.The ambition to want to grow & develop into leadership roles within the home.
