Position Type: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Band 6
This post is only open for applications for individuals employed within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Care System.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with a passion for surgery to provide expert dietetic care to colorectal and benign UGI surgical patients at Queen Alexandra Hospital. The role will be supported by a Band 7 intestinal failure specialist dietitian alongside gastroenterology and oncology colleagues.
The post would be ideally suited for an experienced Band 5 dietitian, or a junior band 6 dietitian looking to increase their clinical experience. Knowledge of parental nutrition would be beneficial, although full support will be provided to complete clinical competencies. Study days and courses are incorporated into the role, to ensure ongoing clinical development and networking.
As a team we strive for clinical excellence and development; research, service evaluations and projects are highly encouraged. Development of analytical and research skills will be supported and many of our dietitians have presented at conferences across the globe. Teaching opportunities and engagement with staff and the wider public are embraced.
Our department is actively involved in training student dietitians, and supervision of students from the University of Surrey and the University of Winchester is included within this role. You will be encouraged to take part in leadership training and will support junior members of the team when appropriate.
