Hull University Teaching Hospital's Emergency Department is based at Hull Royal Infirmary. The department in recent years has undergone a £12 million redevelopment programme providing a first-class facility for our patients.
We are within a large teaching hospital and are the regional trauma unit. Our ED sees over 150,000 patients per year, with its own integrated Paediatric ED and Primary Care area.
The department is innovative and always looking to develop new ideas to enhance the patients' journey through the ED.
The Emergency Department currently sees approximately 150,000 patients a year and provides a challenging and demanding place in which to work. The department receives up to 140 ambulances a day and is a major trauma receiving hospital for the wider region.
Main duties of the job
Are you an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic nurse, with a passion for Emergency nursing? If so, then we would love to meet you.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the department over the 24-hour period. They will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team. They will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care ensuring that nursing and corporate standards are maintained and measured. The post holder will be responsible for the deployment and supervision of staff where there is a requirement to meet the needs of the caseload between all areas in the emergency department. The post holder will provide senior nurse leadership and deputise in the absence of the Matron.
