We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Teacher of Art for our high-achieving 11-18 academy in North Yorkshire. Outwood Academy Easingwold has the highest-performing Post 16 centre in North Yorkshire and GCSE results are the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
Our academies offer a high quality of education for our students and excellent career progression and training for staff. Our driving ambition is Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives.
As a teacher of Art, you will join an experienced department that offers a wealth of expertise. You will become part of a very successful and friendly ‘Creative And Performing Arts’ faculty team, led by an experienced and supportive Head of Faculty with over 13 years experience of working in secondary schools and committed to driving standards to the next level within the faculty and across the trust.
The Art department at Easingwold has 2 very well-resourced rooms. Both classrooms have a visualiser and these are used extensively in frequent and highly effective episodes of guided practice to develop strong procedural knowledge and confidence for independent and deliberate practice. The established KS3 Art curriculum is well planned and is designed as a progressive course that fully prepares students for the KS4 qualifications giving experiences from pencil and acrylic to clay and photography. The Art Department offers the KS4 qualification of AQA Art and Design (Fine Art), giving students the opportunity to excel in their specialist media.
The department produces outstanding outcomes, with relentless ambition to improve on previous years. Many of our students go on to study art at college and university. In addition we have been successful in recent years within the OGAT ‘Artist of the Year’ award that has seen numerous Outwood Academy Easingwold students’ work displayed in the Hepworth Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Teaching and learning is exceptionally led across the academy by a team of experienced SLT and middle leaders who ensure that the curriculum for our students will set them up for lifelong success.
The continuing professional development of staff is important here at Outwood Academy Easingwold. Staff have access to a wide range of CPD and the department is supported by a friendly and approachable Director.
