Electrical Design Engineer - Naval
Location: Bristol, Hybrid (3 days/week in the office)
An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join Rolls-Royce as an Electrical Design Engineer in Naval within our Defence business based in Bristol.
As Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the Electrical design on Marine Gas Turbines across different applications. You will be responsible for developing the design of the electrical system from an architectural concept to physical design against customer requirements as well as industry and certification standards for release on Naval applications.

What you will be doing:
1. Lead the design and development of Gas Turbine, ancillaries, and ship interface electrical systems.
2. Integrate and manage electrical system and sub-system requirements including their testability.
3. Use suitable methods and industry standards while developing and working to appropriate design strategies.
4. Develop new processes, architectures, and ways of working.
5. Continuously improve on the cost and quality of our products.
Who we are looking for:
1. Proficient in electrical engineering including electrical design and development.
2. Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a STEM related subject.
3. Understanding of Electrical Protection Design and Coordination.
4. Appreciation of electrical installation safety and maintainability.
5. Knowledge in Controls and Instrumentation systems and architecture.
6. NX CAD, AutoCAD or similar experience.
7. Curious, self-motivated person, able to challenge when appropriate.
8. Technical problem-solving abilities.
