Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Outpatient Booking Team based at Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal.
You will be joining a well established team, in a purpose built facility, receiving and responding to telephone calls and queries from patients, GP’s and Hospital staff in relation to outpatient appointments.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for mutually agreeing an appropriate date and time with patients for them to see a clinician in an Outpatient setting. Previous administration and customer service experience would be an advantage but not essential. A full training package will be available to support the start of your Administration career in the NHS. You will be working with highly confidential information.
There are part-time and full-time opportunities available. The booking service is open from 8am to 6pm, five days a week. There maybe a requirement to work flexibly to support the needs of the service and there is also the opportunity to work occasional weekends.

Education
* GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English
* Keyboard skills/computer literate
* Customer care
Experience
* Working in a Call Centre or on a Reception
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS Patient Administration systems
* Ability to communicate well
* Ability to work with limited supervision
* Ability to multi-task
