The Social Work Team at St. Peters Hospice supports people with life limiting conditions and their carers. We provide advice and assistance with practical matters such as welfare benefits, arranging care and planning for the future. We work with patients to live as fully as they can and enjoy the best quality of life possible. We also work with the people in their lives that are providing unpaid support or care to them to reduce the stress they may be experiencing, hopefully improving their health and wellbeing. About the role: The role is office based, working alongside our three Social Work Assistants, two Social Workers and Team Manager. On occasion you may also become involved in the work of our wider Patient and Family Support Team. Band 3, salary of £23,730 - £25,309 pa FTE, dependent on experience 30 hours a week, Monday - Friday Permanent position About the person: Applicants should be excellent communicators and must have the ability to deal sensitively, compassionately and professionally with patients and carers using our service, as well as internal and external colleagues. It is a necessity that applicants have a high standard of IT skills, are well organised and enjoy working in a team. Key responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and developing team administrative processes, taking calls and playing a key role in the smooth running of the team.
