Reporting into the Senior Environment Manager, the Project Manager will oversee a one-year task and finish group providing environmental advice to ensure regulatory compliance with legislation and standards for CRSTS projects. The role will collaborate closely with the wider CRSTS team to ensure work and proposals are achieved thoughtfully. Responsibilities
1. Manage the work programme to meet project objectives, milestones, and deadlines.
2. Line management of team members.
3. Review and interpret legal, grant agreement, policy, project, and technical documents; brief technical experts to incorporate environmental requirements effectively.
4. Translate technical input into clear, concise project documents for project managers.
5. Implement a proportionate, risk-based approach to integrating environmental considerations across the CRSTS programme.
6. Define requirements for business case development, stage gates, grant agreements, contracts, health and safety, budgeting, and forecasting.
7. Coordinate technical experts to assess and ensure projects meet environmental standards.
8. Develop methods for evaluating, monitoring, and auditing projects' environmental compliance.
9. Apply continuous improvement practices, including lessons learned.
10. Engage proactively with project managers, stakeholders, and authorities to communicate effectively.
Knowledge
* Degree qualification or equivalent work experience.
* Professional certification in project management or equivalent experience, preferably in infrastructure design and construction.
* Understanding of climate and nature emergencies and regional, national, and local responses.
