LRG Online Ltd is a globally unique Marketplace Business running Trading Platforms based in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands/ Belgium, Sweden and Spain, specifically built for Fashion, Sportswear, Homeware (Soft) & Beauty at affordable prices through a market-leading all-new digital Outlet proposition.
Brands & Full-price Retailers often see third-party clearance as a necessary evil. Aside from the limited amount of clearance on their own channels, clearance is typically viewed as a negative thing; eroding margins, undermining brand equity and damaging to full-price sales. Additionally, clearance through third parties can be seen as brand erosive.
Serial Retail entrepreneurs Chris Griffin and Matt Purt acquired Secret Sales in March 2020, moving the business from a UK-only antiquated members-only flash sales site to a dedicated marketplace. Products are displayed with complementary brand adjacencies, away from cluttered listings associated with traditional marketplaces creating a technology and marketing-led proposition that acts as an efficient extension of a fashion brand’s e-commerce operation. At this time they also set up LRG Online Ltd as the Parent Company, to then drive International Growth and expansions through Acquisition.
As part of this International growth project, LRG Online Ltd acquired the German based DressforLess (https://www.dress-for-less.de/) Business and Launched in March 2024. Since then and as we annualise the German market site, the DressforLess platform now drives over 23% of Total LRG Online Ltd Sales and 32% of what The UK market drives annually.
THE ROLE
As a result of the significant German site success since launch, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop the current German based ‘Live’ Partners base and facilitate the next phase of growth by working closely within the relevant Category Vertical. The current Vertical structure consists of a Business Development, a Trade, a New Business and a Partner Services member of Team. The Verticals then agree the right strategy to drive growth YoY and what they need vs Brands/ Category/ Price point gap.
This is a highly desirable role with an organisation that is growing rapidly. As such the successful candidate will join at a very exciting phase and time where they are able to work with and help drive the growth strategies across the key markets for globally recognisable Brands and Retailers.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Responsible for actively engaging with and managing the commercial & strategic relationship with your confirmed Key Tier/ Vertical Partners (Global Brands and Retailers) and driving the defined growth strategy plan. You will be the significant conduit between the Partner but supported by the International Category Trading and Digital Marketing teams to deliver the Annual £GMV Forecast number within the Group’s Company Budget Plan.
* Reporting directly to Paul Smallpage, Senior Vice President of Business Development, you will be responsible to deliver effective and scalable Partnerships with the key allocated German based Brands and Retailers assigned within the Tier/ Vertical sales strategy and in line with the Company Budget Plan. A summary of where these Partners are YTD will be shared and the expectations for the up-coming Year, so you have the relevant context on growth trajectories.
* Ensure optimum flow of product onto the platform, to maximise relevant International Category and Brand trading opportunities & support the Company Trading Calendar activities.
* Collaborate with your Partners to pursue stock opportunities and collaborate with International Category Trading teams to develop relevant trading initiatives & promotions to achieve Company Budget Plan.
* Negotiate favourable commercial terms as and when the opportunity arises, or on specific Partner & Category Vertical trading opportunities including ‘trial’ commercials to prove/ disprove certain assumptions.
* Actively develop Partner specific performance reporting and communications plan via F2F, video conferencing and effective collaboration tools. The current Business Development team can share the templates used for the existing Verticals, so you can utilise and revise as required. A Partner Portal is also in the 2025 Tech roadmap Plan.
* Working closely with the Global Senior Business Development Managers, the International Category Trading Managers to build out a robust trading plan and agree aligned trading calendar activities on a per Month, Quarter, Half Yearly and Yearly basis, always reviewing vs LY Sales Performance to ensure no opportunities are missed or alternate Brand/ Category strategy is in place.
* Achieve all agreed personal & business objectives as part of your on-going personal development plan which you can agree with your Direct Report Manager
* Act as a strong Brand Ambassador for LRG Online Ltd in all our launched markets, which are the UK, Germany, The Netherlands/ Belgium, Sweden and Spain.
SKILL-SET
* A German language speaker, based in either Germany or the UK
* A Commercially focused operator with a strong network of Senior-level contacts within the German and European Fashion & Retail Sector within the allocated Tier/ Vertical.
* Strong track record of negotiating and closing deals at C-Suite level with Fashion & Lifestyle Partners (Brands & Retailers)
* Strong background of developing relationships with multiple Partners, Fashion and Lifestyle Categories is a must
* Engaging, people-focused individual with a track record of building long term, sustainable
Relationships that drive growth
* Smart, entrepreneurial and self-motivated with strong analytical skills is also a must.
* Highly articulate and proficient Partnership/ Sales expert
* Be able to flawlessly present and communicate in both written and verbal forms in German and English
