Our client is looking for a Senior PSV Mechanic to be based in Liverpool
This role is working for a large public transport company
Applicants must have experience of the following
Duties will include.
* Routine 6-weekly safety inspections and annual MOT preparation on fleet vehicles.
* Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on different makes of buses (Alexander Dennis, Optare, Fiat, Volkswagen & Mercedes).
* Accurate fault diagnosing (mechanical and/or electrical) and rectification ensuring all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that the relevant health and safety policies are adhered to.
* Road test vehicle when required (if holder of HGV/PSV licence)
* Detailed record keeping of planned and completed work, including parts used and ordered.
* Work areas can include engines, gearboxes, running gear, electrical systems, and body repairs.
* Daily review of driver defect sheets and ensuring that all vehicle defects are reported to the garage foreman.
* Attending local breakdowns in and out of hours.
* Maintaining a high standard of organisation including cleanliness and tidiness around the workshop.
Essential:
* Served a recognised apprenticeship as a Bus Mechanic / PSV Technician / HGV Engineer and hold a formal qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
* Gained a minimum of 2-years' experience in a similar work environment.
* Possess a good knowledge of the DVSA rules and legislation relating to inspections and MOT preparation of PSV vehicles.
* Can demonstrate that you can work consistently and safely to a high standard of Health & Safety
* Have skills to be a flexible member of the team to adapt to the tasks necessary in the day-to-day operations of the depot.
* Hold a full UK license.
Pay is £45000 to £47500
* Fortnightly pay.
* Uniform and workwear provided including PPE on request.
* Employee and family ( 2 extra passes) free travel
* Own area to store own tools and equipment.
