£Neg plus benefits We are seeking and Electrical Engineer to join the Marine Division of a leading developer of decarbonisation technology for large-scale marine and industrial applications powered by hydrogen or ammonia. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting electrical control / Instrumentation systems for marine applications, ensuring compliance with industry/Class, relevant standards and best practice including: Evaluate and select suitable electrical components and materials to meet performance, safety, and cost objectives. Ensure designs comply with marine regulations and classification society requirements. Actively participate in the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of control/instrument systems in the field, both domestically and internationally. Work closely with mechanical designers, hydrogen systems engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and alignment with project objectives. Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for electrical systems, including P&ID’s, Functional Design Specifications, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and Component Specifications. Candidates will ideally be degree qualified and must possess knowledge of marine environments to design robust and durable systems, suitable for harsh conditions, together with: Experience in control system/Instrument design, within the marine sectors. Previous PLC experience is required, preferentially Siemens Simatic. Control Panel design and build experience would also be advantageous. Proficiency in using 2D CAD software (such as AutoCAD) for drawing and system design. Hands-on experience with field install/commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical, control systems and Instrumentation systems. Strong understanding of marine and industrial engineering principles, and related regulations. Knowledge of Hydrogen Technologies would be an advantage. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for field work, up to 25% of the time No Certificate of Sponsorship is available for this role. The role offers hybrid working.
