The Cornwall Children's Community Speech and Language Therapy service has an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our West Cornwall Team following an internal promotion. This is a perfect opportunity for someone either looking to relocate to Cornwall or to start their career in a friendly and established service.
This post is suitable for a newly qualified therapist and we are happy to take applications from therapists in the final stages of finishing their degree.
You will hold a 0-18 years old mixed community caseload and offer support in education settings, through home visits and clinic appointments in the West Cornwall locality. The service offers both assessment and intervention, in addition to consultation and training.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with a communication caseload, however we would also consider a mixed communication and dysphagia caseload for any applicants with existing competencies or the opportunity to start Dysphagia competencies in the future. We are looking for someone who
* Has experience working with a range of clinical needs either through previous roles or on student placements
* Enjoys working as part of a supportive and friendly team
* Is enthusiastic about working with children

Person Specification
Educational
* Degree in speech and language therapy
* Current professional registration with HCPC
* Membership of the RCSLT
Experience
* Undergraduate paediatric clinical experience in a range of settings
* To be able to deal with a range of clinical issues, have knowledge of differential diagnosis re SLT and formulate appropriate strategies for caseload management.
* Knowledge of assessment tools and appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant for use with children
* Evidences of relevant training courses for SLCN i.e. Makaton
