Maintenance Technician (Multi-skilled -Electrical Bias)
An opening has arisen for a time served multi-skilled technician to join the on-site maintenance team at Stepping Hill hospital.
The post holder will have operational maintenance duties including both reactive and planned maintenance to the electrical distribution and systems across the Trust's premises including specialist healthcare systems such as IPS and UPS.
You will have responsibility for systems and equipment such as the Nurse Call, Lifts, BMS and Pneumatic Tube System this will include some basic mechanical work.
The post holder will have a recognised electrical based apprenticeship, including City and Guilds and NVQ level 3 qualifications. Additional experience of Building management systems, mechanical systems including steam raising and pressure systems will be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills possessing the ability to work both as an individual using their own initiative and as part of a multi-discipline team to deliver a safe and effective maintenance solution.
There will be a requirement to work overtime; both rostered and ad-hoc; at short notice as required to meet the needs of the Trust and its healthcare environment. There will also be a need to form part of the on-call response team to assist our out of hours staff where required.

As part of the multi-skilled role there will be an expectation to provide additional support to other disciplines and to take maintenance responsibility for systems and equipment such as the Lifts, BMS and Pneumatic Tube System this will include some basic mechanical work.

There will be a requirement to be able to follow technical data and drawings, identify and locate faults on various systems and propose and deliver an effective solution.

* Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Installation (NVQ 3 equivalent or higher)
* Good Education Standard
* 18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382)
* HNC/ONC in electrical or mechanical engineering
* AP LV Safe Systems of Work
* AP Boilers & Pressure Systems
* AP Piped Medical Gas Systems
* Able to communicate effectively (written)
* IOSH certificate in H & S
Experience

£29,970 to £36,483 a year pro rata per annum.
