We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Early Years Assistant to join our team at Bulwell Childcare in Nottingham. Rated Good by Ofsted and 8.6 on Day Nurseries.
We are looking for an Apprentice Early Years Assistant who will offer our children high-quality inclusive early years education and care.

About Bulwell Childcare:
Our committed, friendly and well-qualified nursery team provides high-quality care and learning opportunities for children aged between 0-11 years. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a focus on learning through play and actively encourage parents to become involved in the life of the nursery.
We are open from 8am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 39 weeks of the year following the Nottingham City school term dates, excluding bank holidays and three staff training days.

Job purpose and duties:
We are all about delivering inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children in a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment, while providing you as an apprentice with the learning opportunities you need.
In this role, you will learn:
* How to meet children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs by providing stimulating and age-appropriate play and learning opportunities.
* How to supervise the children and protect them from dangerous or harmful situations, with the support and guidance of senior staff.
* How to contribute to a high level of care that enhances children's general health and well-being.
* How to carry out observations of children, discuss their progress with the key person, and contribute ideas to planning sessions.
* How to be aware of any special needs a child may have and to familiarize yourself with relevant play and learning plans.
Your responsibilities will also include:
* Working with colleagues to provide fun and engaging outdoor activities for children's development.
* Preparing healthy snacks, setting up and clearing away mealtimes, and supporting children during mealtimes.
* Attending and contributing to feedback sessions.
* Attending and contributing at regular staff/team meetings.
* Sharing any child protection concerns immediately with the Designated Safeguarding Lead or their deputy.
* Adhering to our code of practice on confidentiality.
Desirable requirements:
* Good written and verbal communication
* GCSE grade D or 3 in English and Maths or functional skills level 1
* Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team
* Good customer awareness
* Experience of dealing with young children
