Job Advertisement: Retrofit Consultant - Social Housing\n\nSalary: £45,000 - £60,000\nLocation: Cardiff, UK\nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)\nStart Date: Immediate\n\nOne of our social housing clients is excited to recruit a Retrofit Consultant to join their growing team, based in Cardiff. This role offers excellent opportunities for career progression within a dynamic and forward-thinking business focused on achieving NetZero targets.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing retrofit works, requiring regular travel across the UK to coordinate and oversee the installation and implementation of energy efficiency measures in social housing properties. You will be tasked with organising your time effectively, ensuring visits to more remote locations are clustered together.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCollaborate closely with clients to develop and map their decarbonisation journey.\nProvide expert funding support and cultivate strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.\nDrive business development within the social housing and local authority sectors.\nOversee Retrofit Assessors delivering PAS2035 services nationwide.\nRepresent the business in leadership roles at events and meetings.\nUtilise and manage systems, databases, and quality management processes to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.\nServe as a Retrofit Coordinator, ensuring compliance with PAS2035 from inception to evaluation.\nDemonstrate expertise in building services, particularly heating and ventilation systems.\nShow strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently when required.\nRegular travel to client homes across the UK will be a key part of the role.Desired Experience and Skills:\n\nProven experience in carrying out retrofit works in a domestic setting and working with domestic refurbishment clients.\nStrong understanding of the construction industry structure and the various roles in a building project.\nExperience with building energy modelling (SAP, PHPP, or similar) and as a DEA/Retrofit Assessor (desirable).\nLevel 5 Diploma in Domestic Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management, with accreditation as a Retrofit Coordinator.\nA solid background in domestic building retrofit or M&E management, with a good understanding of building physics and retrofit energy efficiency measures.\nFull driving license and access to a vehicle with business insurance cover.Please call Danielle from Building Careers on (phone number removed) / (phone number removed)\n\nThis position may not be for you, but feel free to call in for a quick chat so that we can find you more relevant work with some of our colleagues.\n\nBuilding Careers UK are specialists in Construction and Property recruitment.
