Work pattern: 31.25 hpw, 41 weeks per year (term time, INSET days, plus 2 weeks in August)
Peakirk cum Glinton CE Primary School is a small family school with great children and a hardworking and caring team of staff who are dedicated to the inclusion of all pupils. We operate a popular and successful pre-school as part of the school with wonderful children and experienced, supportive and dedicated staff.
As our nursery lead, your role is vital to continue to manage and run the forward direction of the setting and being the ‘face of the pre-school’ as the first point of contact for parents, carers, and visitors, which makes your appointment central to our pre-school’s continued success.
We are looking for an applicant to join our happy and supportive team who shares our inclusive ethos, has a child-centred approach, and is sensitive to the needs of pupils. The right candidate will have experience in early years, managing people, and a working knowledge of early years legislation and administration. They will have experience of caring for children as young as 2 years of age, supporting families, and know the importance of representing the school in this role.
As the pre-school is fortunate enough to belong to Peterborough Diocese Education Trust and is very much part of the school, you will be joining a supportive network, be supported, and eventually work closely with an early years lead who will support you in your role. It is our vision that the pupils and staff will benefit from the pre-school and reception class settings working closely together. Please review the job description and person specification for further information.
We welcome visits to our school, which can be arranged by contacting the school office.
The successful candidate will:
* Be committed to our school’s ethos of care and support for ALL children.
* Be an experienced early years practitioner holding a level 6 qualification.
* Be highly organised and have excellent management skills, able to lead and direct a small team and ensure admin deadlines are met.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills that support public and professional queries.
* Be highly motivated, keen to continue to develop and grow, have a positive attitude, and be prepared to embrace and lead change.
* Be experienced in or willing to train in expected legal requirements such as first aid, health and safety, and safeguarding.
We can offer you:
* Fantastic children who want to learn and enjoy active play.
* A great team of caring, enthusiastic, and experienced staff.
* A purpose-built, open-plan, well-resourced building with designated indoor and outdoor areas.
* A supportive Academy with continued professional development.
Closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 29th January 2025.
Interviews: Wednesday 5th February.
Visits to the pre-school and school are recommended and can be arranged via the school office. We look forward to meeting you.
To arrange a visit, please contact the school office (01733 252361) or e-mail office@peakirk.peterborough.sch.uk.
