A global leader in technology is actively searching for a VAT Strategy & Implementation Manager to drive VAT compliance, with a focus on e-invoicing and e-reporting processes across the company’s European operations. This leadership role will work closely with senior VAT leadership, helping to advise on, implement, and optimize e-invoicing initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. The role is crucial as e-invoicing regulations evolve, providing an opportunity to play a key part in shaping tax strategy at the cutting edge of business technology. The position will be based in London offices with occasional travel expected. Key Responsibilities VAT Advisory & Strategy: Work closely with internal teams including VAT Policy, Finance, Operations, and IT to stay ahead of developing EU VAT regulations and drive compliance through e-invoicing and related projects. Legal Analysis & Tax Insights: Analyze tax legislation, with a focus on EU VAT rules, and provide actionable guidance on their application to ensure smooth compliance across operations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams such as Tax, Operations, and IT to seamlessly integrate VAT requirements and solutions into day-to-day business operations. E-Invoicing Leadership: Lead e-invoicing systems deployment, monitor their success, and ensure long-term regulatory adherence across all regions. Project Management: Provide strategic input and leadership for the successful execution of tax-related technology projects, including implementing tax engines and reporting systems. Required Experience & Qualifications VAT Expertise: At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience in VAT advisory or planning, either in a large consulting firm or within a multinational corporate in-house tax team. E-Invoicing & Technology Implementation: Deep experience in e-invoicing projects or tax technology implementations, with knowledge of related processes such as tax engine deployment. EU VAT Knowledge: Strong understanding of EU tax laws and practical applications in various jurisdictions, particularly in relation to complex tax technology projects. Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax laws to non-expert stakeholders. Proven ability to engage with and influence senior leadership teams. Problem Solving & Strategic Guidance: Ability to navigate complex VAT issues, offer solutions, and provide leadership on new regulatory changes. Ideal Candidate Solid background in EU VAT planning and a proven track record with e-invoicing within a large-scale corporate or consulting environment. Strong cross-functional relationship management skills, especially working with IT, Finance, and Operations teams.
