About You: Control Room experience is highly desirable but not essential. Ability to cope with competing demands when under pressure within a busy ever changing environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages You must have a full UK driver’s license (car), held for a minimum of one year, with no more than 3 penalty points. Proof of this will be required. Successful candidates will have the ability and desire to work safely, be flexible and deliver customer service excellence. Flexible and open to new challenges at short notice. You will be required to support at large scale events such as Rugby and Edinburgh’s Festive events. About the Role: This is a shift based role that will require you to work a roster comprising of early, late and nightshifts across 7 days a week and 365 days a year. A copy of the current base roster is available on request You will predominantly be based in the Operations Control Centre within the tram depot at Gogar, although you will also be deployed in one of our Mobile Control vehicles. You will have day to day control of Edinburgh Trams network and operations. You will utilise control room systems such as SCADA and VICOS to ensure delivery of a safe, efficient, and reliable service for our passengers. You will monitor and respond to any situations that may cause service disruption and will, on occasion, be the first responder deployed to any emergency situation. When on a ‘spare’ duty, you may also be expected to carry out other tasks out with your normal core role, after relevant training this will include occasional tram driving, so a high degree of flexibility will be required.
