Job Purpose
To assist in preparation, production and service of food as required under the supervision of the cook. To assist in the promotion of the ethos of better eating better learning within the school environment.

Responsibilities
6. Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pupils.
7. Preparing and serving meals to pupils and staff following food safety and service standards
8. Promoting the ethos of Better Eating Better Learning
9. Working as part of a team to ensure high standards of food hygiene for pupils
10. Working alongside your team with no supervisory responsibility
11. Working with your team with no budgetary responsibility
Requirements
12. Have an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to achieve it within 6 months
13. Have experience working in a similar role
14. Have experience with basic kitchen duties and awareness of how to safely use chemical agents
15. Be able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in dining halls and kitchen
16. Have knowledge of food portion control and be able to assist with food preparation and heating
17. Possess customer care skills and be able to maintain confidentiality
18. Be flexible, able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Important information
Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.
