Job Purpose:

As a Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor, you would be working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) accredited pharmaceutical Quality Control (QC) microbiology testing laboratory, working predominantly on pharmaceutical projects such as batch release testing, ensuring that the products that are sold to the end-users are fit for use.
You would work alongside the Microbiology Manager to oversee and supervise the laboratory team and effective day-to-day operations of the lab.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delegating tasks and testing priorities
2. Ensuring the lab is appropriately resourced to allow for timely completion of work
3. Supervise maintenance of equipment and associated qualification activities
4. Communicate with clients to support them with their testing queries and release of results
5. Respond to questions/problems raised by colleagues in the lab
6. Review and approve test data to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory procedures (including the relevant Pharmacopoeia)
7. Document control and completion of investigations using the electronic Quality Management System (QMS), working closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) Team.
8. Support with routine testing as and when required
9. Ensure GMP principles are adhered to at all times
Key Person Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Biological sciences
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a testing laboratory
3. Some experience supervising or leading a team
