The role
As the Global Head of Engineering Delivery, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that Babcock’s projects and programmes have the right engineering capability and capacity and the engineering scope is appropriately structured and planned to achieve compliant technical deliverables of our programmes.
Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a proactive Resource Allocation Strategy for Babcock’s Engineering resources based on inputs from the wider business. This will support alignment of people and resourcing strategies with the overarching business objectives to ensure that we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right role and the right time.
* Support the Global Engineering Delivery Director in providing engineering leadership and guidance across the business, with particular focus on engineering organisational structure and operating model within Programmes and Business Units to ensure a consistent and best practice approach to engineering.
* Management and allocation of Engineering Resources across Babcock to meet Sector demands.
* Identify and address workforce gaps/surpluses by assessing current workforce capacities, capabilities and future needs.
* Collaborate with other parts of the Babcock business to assemble & analyse the current workforce, that the future business needs.
* Ensure ongoing alignment with Babcock’s global growth & technology strategies focusing on load variation, core vs critical engineering roles, emerging skill sets and regional/international workforce dynamics, supporting overall business growth and operational efficiency.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience for the Global Head of Engineering Delivery:
* Will have had experience of leading and managing Engineering teams within an operational/delivery environment.
* Ideally experience in engineering delivery through a lifecycle, within a service or product-based industry.
* Must be comfortable working within, and leading change programmes.
* Experience in influencing multiple stakeholders including Engineering and Business Unit Directors.
* Planning and delivering strategy.
Essential qualifications for the Global Head of Engineering Delivery:
* Bachelor of Engineering and Chartered Membership of appropriate Professional Institute – although equivalence with appropriate experience will be considered.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
