Position: Principal Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £70-80k + Car + Bonus
Location: Remote with travel to South of England and Midlands
Your New Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading client of ours. This is a hybrid role with occasional travel requirements.
As a highly experienced Principal Commercial Manager with a background in Facilities Management and Planned/Reactive Contracts, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Commercial.
You will also be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a commercial team while fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain commercial control to ensure timely and accurate submissions of payment applications.
* Produce precise commercial reports and cost data.
* Monitor and review the performance of the supply chain.
* Price works and identify opportunities to maximise revenue.
* Manage supplier payments in line with contractual and company policies.
* Collaborate with procurement teams to engage and appoint specialist supply chain partners.
* Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders on all commercial matters.
* Assist the Commercial & Risk Manager in preparing dispute avoidance strategies and managing dispute resolution.
* Ensure adherence to security and fraud prevention processes and procedures at all times.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of contract processes and procedures, advising and supporting where required.
* Identify business priorities and effectively plan and implement strategies.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
* Commercial QS experience in Facilities Management, construction, property maintenance, or a related field, including:
* Developing cost models
* Risk analysis and management
* Preparation of work proposals/tenders
* Strong understanding of commercial processes.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to foster a collaborative working environment and build strong working relationships.
* Experience in managing complex, multi-site operations.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills in business data and metrics.
* Willingness and ability to travel.
* Membership of a professional body.
* Utility and Carbon Reduction training (desirable).
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
