We have a new vacancy for a Paralegal to join the firm’s Employment department, in our Manchester Spinningfields office.

There is very little - if anything - relating to employment law that we haven't dealt with. This is why our clients find we are the ideal law firm to have in their corner.

The role:
You will hit the ground running in your role as Paralegal, with the opportunity to take on your own caseload with support from our team of experienced employment specialists. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing an effective and timely service to the firm’s clients.
* Managing an agreed caseload in a profitable and efficient manner, with appropriate support and supervision.
* Accurate and efficient time recording.
* Creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of work done on legal matters such as when opening new files, closing files, archiving etc. in the firm’s case management system.
* Assisting in case-based tasks including obtaining informal expert opinions to assess the viability of cases.
* Producing an appropriate level of chargeable, recoverable fee-earning hours.
* Achieving billing targets or meeting expectations of billing performance.
* Ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules, and JMW’s internal policies and guidelines.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following experience and interpersonal skills:
* Hands on experience and good working knowledge of Employment law and practices within a similar role.
* Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Strong team working ethic.
* Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive.
* Previous experience of Employment Tribunal cases (ideally acting for Respondents) would be advantageous.
