Job Title: Senior Airworthiness Engineer
Location: Bristol
Salary: £47,683 - £52,426 + £4k Bonus
About the Role:
Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and certification of cutting-edge aviation technology? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Airworthiness Engineer to join our team. This role is integral to our Development, Production, and Export clearance programs, providing independent assurance activities and acting as a focal point for airworthiness matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Independent Airworthiness Assurance: Conduct independent assurance activities related to design certification (qualification and safety) evidence to support airworthiness certification across various programs.
2. Flight Limitations Coordination: Serve as the airworthiness focal point, coordinating flight limitations with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations, and external customers to ensure safety and compliance.
3. Flight Certification Production: Establish and produce Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development and Production Aircraft, as well as Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Customers.
4. Flight Safety Procedures: Address emergent flight safety issues for Development aircraft by issuing Flight Safety Procedures (Additional Flight Limitations/Flight Safety Messages) to Eurofighter Partner Company operators in Italy, Spain, Germany, and the UK.
5. Process Development: Support the continuous improvement of flight certification and design certification processes, contributing to the enhancement of overall airworthiness standards.
6. Project Support: Represent Airworthiness at Typhoon project meetings and provide support to external customer meetings, ensuring alignment and understanding of airworthiness requirements.
Your Skills and Experience:
1. Aircraft Avionic and Mechanical Systems Design: Demonstrated expertise in the design and analysis of avionic and mechanical systems, with a strong understanding of aerodynamic principles.
2. Design Configuration Control: Proficient in managing design configuration control processes throughout the lifecycle of the aircraft.
3. Design Certification and Airworthiness Processes: In-depth knowledge of the standards and procedures involved in certifying aircraft design and ensuring airworthiness.
4. Aircraft Operations: Familiarity with the operational aspects of aircraft, including flight operations and associated limitations and safety procedures.
5. Analytical Methods: Ability to apply analytical techniques to establish integrated aircraft-level flight limitations, ensuring comprehensive safety and performance assessments.
