Job Description:
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an MRP Controller to manage current and future manufacturing schedules, oversee logistics management activities, and ensure timely fulfilment of customer programs at the Stevenage site.
In this role as an MRP Controller, the successful candidate would report to a senior member of the Manufacturing Planning & Control team.
What we're looking for:
* Experience in Manufacturing planning, Supply chain management, or a related field.
* APIC supply chain certification is desirable but optional.
* Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and MRP systems.
* Good planning and organizing skills.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Able to analyze and solve problems with attention to detail.
* Previous experience in logistics and production planning or a related discipline.
* Knowledge of Kanban and two-bin systems.
What you'll get to do as an MRP Controller:
The chosen candidate will oversee and coordinate all planning-related tasks to ensure the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) is delivered on time, efficiently, and cost-effectively while maintaining high-quality standards. The role includes:
* Coordinating and executing activities related to material planning and procurement.
* Scheduling work in the MRP system.
* Managing inventory levels.
* Collaborating with the Supply Planner to communicate potential plan changes and resolve supply chain constraints.
Additionally, the candidate will identify risks associated with supplied parts and work closely with Goods Receiving, stores, and dispatch to manage inventory levels, maintain MRP system accuracy, and ensure required paperwork is submitted. The candidate will also support non-conformance management controls and maintain the manufacturing bill of materials and manufacturing strategy. Finally, they will contribute to achieving schedule adherence, inventory, and delivery KPIs by executing the planning process efficiently.
