Due to the increase of treatments and care we are giving to patients, our busy Administration department has a new permanent opportunity for a Patient Booking Clerk to join the fun, focused team, based at our Emersons Green hospital, Bristol.
* Are you a patient focused administrator, who enjoys working to targets?
* Are you able to thrive in a fast paced and challenging environment, yet still ensure every step of every administration process is covered from start to finish?
* Is it time for you to offer your knowledge and skills to an ever-growing organisation who are committed to providing high standards of safe and effective patient care to everyone?
You will be providing a professional and patient focused booking and administration service, answering calls from patients, carers, GP surgeries and other hospitals regarding patient admissions and referral letters.
This is a part-time permanent position (22.5 hpw) working a set day rota basis per week from 09:00 to 17:00.
What you'll be doing
As the Patient Booking Clerk, you’ll be supporting the clinical team and our patients by effectively occupying and accommodating availability for varied consultations, assessments, treatments and theatre sessions. You’ll be tasked with monitoring the capacity of booking and reporting any unfilled availability to the Patient Services Lead.
It will be your responsibility to identify and register all new patients and manage their referrals. You will need to confidently answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding their appointments.
In this Patient Booking Clerk position, you’ll be playing a patient focused and supportive role, keeping in contact with patients on waiting lists to offer earlier or newly available appointments, and contacting them prior to their appointment to set their expectations.
Detailed, up to date and confirmed booking lists will have to be prepared in good time and issued to the related departments, such as the outpatient clinic and theatres.
What we’ll look for in you
We are looking for a strong Administrator; this position will suit those who may have worked in a telesales or call centre environment with a results/target driven background.
You will be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal, and will be PC literate, being familiar with MS Office tools (Excel in particular), able to pick up new systems easily.
Multi-tasking will be second nature to you as you will have examples of having had to juggle multiple tasks at the same time.
