Health and Safety Advisor Location: Northallerton Head Office, with the opportunity for hybrid working. Salary: Scale 6 SCP 27-29, £32,247 - £34,329 Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:30-16:30 We are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health and Safety team, responsible for delivering high quality, credible and timely advice, and support. You will provide excellent customer service and demonstrate real value to front line services through analysing data, developing effective relationships, and troubleshooting safety challenges to deliver practical results. Key responsibilities: Provide timely and credible advice and solutions on all Health & Safety management matters in accordance with relevant procedures, best practice, regulation, or legislation as applicable, as well as undertaking audits and investigations as required. You will deliver service in accordance with agreed standards including KPIs and SLAs as well as identifying and developing ongoing procedure and service improvements. Contribute to the development, maintenance and management of relevant frameworks, procedures and policies ensuring appropriate consultation and statutory and legal compliance. Provide insight and analysis on key issues and trends to assist in targeting support. Identify and deliver education and development to line management to improve their ownership of and capability to manage health and safety matters. Undertake research or project work on key issues or specific initiatives as required. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, unions and staff associations. Requirements: To be successful you will: Have a NEBOSH Certificate (or with an equivalent level of experience). Able to manage dynamic and fast-moving workloads with fluctuating safety priorities. Demonstrable experience of providing high quality, customer orientated Health & Safety advisory services to agreed SLAs and KPIs. Be comfortable with coaching and developing wide ranging stakeholders to resolve issues, as well as analysing data to identify trends and challenges and develop pragmatic solutions which mitigate risk. Excellent customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of diverse and demanding customers across a variety of platforms. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and IT systems, have a high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with producing and presenting accurate data and information. It is essential that you have a Full UK driving license as frequent travel is expected in this role.
