POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for strategically sourcing, procuring, and managing the purchase of goods and services. Focusing on optimizing cost, quality, and delivery timelines by negotiating contracts with suppliers and building strong relationships.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver budgeted cost reduction actions
* Stabilise supply chain through dual sourcing, buffer stock agreements and identifying alternative solutions.
* Work with vendors to review forecasts to anticipate future needs and coordinate long term needs.
* Prepare and issue RFQ requests, and compare MOQ, payment terms, freight conditions prices to reduce production costs.
* Challenge vendor quotes and drive costs down; report cost reductions.
* Create a strategy using multiple negotiation tactics to drive competition.
* Manage vendor warranty claims.
* Evaluate current performances and set improvement plans if required.
* Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, conducting market research to find the most competitive options for required goods and services.
* Assist MLM and QAM with supplier audits.
* Work closely with the engineering team for NPI.
* Maintain clear and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
* Other duties as designated by department manager.

* 3-5 years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrate good negotiation and supplier management skills
* Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
* Experience with an ERP system (Infor/Baan preferred)
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
* BAC +2
