Ideally your experience will have been gained in another heavy environment with large machinery, working in some form of maintenance or fitting or servicing role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Responsibilities This is a permanent Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer position, working 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off rotation of days & nights. You will be working in a team of Maintenance Engineers, with days often being more reactive and nights more proactive involving PPM’s, Continuous Improvement and Project Work. Your role will include Planned Preventative Maintenance across a range of equipment and machinery. Dealing with machinery breakdowns and problems, so good fault finding, diagnostics and repair skills are required. Assisting with planned shut-downs and project work, refurbishing machines and replacing worn parts. The production machinery is often large and heavy so you will be trained how to work safely on the plant to check, repair or replace belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. Those Multi-Skilled Engineers with a mechanical bias within production/manufacturing environments would be ideal. Skills & Experience Have completed a recognised Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering qualifications NVQ or C&G Level 3 or higher. Experience with mechanical & electrical maintenance within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment. Experience within a heavy plant environment is ideal Good experience with Fluid Power systems – Both Hydraulics & Pneumatics, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, PPM, repair & replacement. Any experience of belts, chains, bearings – fitting & aligning, pumps, motors, gears, Arc / Mig welding and fabrication would be highly desirable – training and support can be given on some areas. Specific knowledge of drive chain fault finding and electrical control systems are highly beneficial. Ability to think outside the box and help with continuous improvements, offering long term solutions to problems. Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in and hands dirty in this heavy plant role. Friendly and adaptable working attitude, able to work well in a team.
