About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed person to join the College for Military Veterans and Emergency Services (CMVES), to engage with and support the Armed Forces community in Lancashire and beyond. This is a fixed term contract due to limited funding.
The Engagement Officer will maintain relationships with partner organisations, identifying appropriate new collaborative opportunities as agreed to support the Armed Forces community. They will work alongside the wider team to deliver aspects of existing and new programmes of activity within the college and the wider university. Undertaking a needs assessment with each client referral, they will work to ensure a realistic pathway has been established for the individual service leaver, veteran, or family member.
The CMVES team based at the University supports service personnel and family members make a smooth transition from a career in the military services to civilian life. Specialist staff who have experience in the armed forces provide professional guidance and advice for service children and spouses, whether they are planning to leave the armed forces or are already military veterans.
About you:
The successful applicant will have collaboration and networking skills as well as planning and organisational skills and be able to produce high-quality engagement that has significant impact in the field. They will have either a teaching qualification or be educated to degree level and have a high level of competence in organising and running events.
